Sounding rockets are systems that follow a ballistic trajectory under the effect of gravity. Sounding rockets are used in many different fields, including low-cost space access, conducting scientific experiments in a microgravity environment, high-speed atmospheric re-entry tests, hypersonic tests, and as target systems. DeltaV’s Sounding Rocket System (SORS), which uses hybrid rocket technology, is one of the largest and most capable sounding rocket systems in the world. Hybrid sounding rockets have many advantages with respect to the currently available solid alternatives including safety, cost-effectiveness, and throttling capability. The first launch of the SORS has been performed in December 2020 and 10+ launches have been successfully completed since then.

All technology demonstration tests had been completed for SORS and it is completely ready for commercial operations.
